Combining fresh food and a contemporary elegance, Seven South’s name will lead you in the right direction, doubling as coordinates to its location – just seven minutes south of Brisbane’s CBD.
Seven South is the answer to Yeronga’s need for simple, fresh, quality produce. The original owners found inspiration for Seven South from the leafy green park nearby, offering an open plan, licenced cafe with a breezy attitude and quality dining attached to it. Jenny Dai took over in mid-2016, eager to create a thriving business for her family’s future. With a background in accounting she was well equipped with the business knowledge to do so.
With breakfast served all day on the weekends, the seasonal menu will leave you with indecision, offering anything from coconut cream panna cotta with bircher muesli, pistachio and blueberries to Seven South’s signature lemon thyme blueberry and ricotta hot cake with crème fraiche and pistachio praline.
However it doesn’t stop there, lunch gives you a selection of both carnivorous and omnivorous options such as the linguini with smoked herlioom tomato, lemon, basil, chilli and salted ricotta or the beef brisket tacos with chilli, lime, corn and black bean salsa. As dinner creeps up, a choice of mains or share platters are available. Try the delicious roast pork belly with kimchi, chilli jam, daikon and green papaya slaw. Finish any meal off with the signature ice cream sandwich.
Seven South’s menu is playful and a little experimental, offering you a wide variety of choices that are executed in a refined and elegant way. Catering to all who walk through its doors, you’ll find a range of gluten free and dairy free options to choose from.
The beverage list is a reflection of the variety and quality Seven South bring to the table, with Dramanti coffee served up by talented baristas. Order an espresso, cold drip or single origin coffee, or for something a little different a matcha green tea latte or frappe.
If coffee doesn’t quite take the edge off, Seven South is fully licenced bringing you a selection of reds, whites and bubbles too.
The interior combines materials like dark timber tables with contrasting white chairs and copper lighting. Seven South brings an open style dining experience allowing a natural breeze to flow through. Staff are buzzing around and won’t hesitate to list off their favourite selections if it all seems too good to choose.
With a liquor licence, Seven South transitions seamlessly from a modern cafe into an ambient evening dining experience. Head seven minutes south of the city and discover for yourself what this menu and dining experience is all about.
