The popularity of yoga has spread like wildfire so it’s no wonder Yoga Flame is so successful.
Living, studying and practicing yoga in the United States, owners Emma and Gabor Bukovinszky returned to Melbourne with the realisation that the city’s north was in desperate need of quality yoga facilities. After opening the doors of their Essendon studio, Emma and Gabor were flooded with business. Two years on, they moved to a larger space in Moonee Ponds.
Yoga Flame is inspired by the powerful force that fire represents for change and transformation, tying into the vision Emma and Gabor have for their studio and their members.
The hub offers state-of-the-art facilities with two large practice rooms. With hardwood floors in the upstairs studio and enviro-friendly cork flooring downstairs, visitors are warmly welcomed into a clean and refreshing space.
Yoga Flame offers Hot, Flow and Yin classes and workshops for every body at every level. The teachers are passionate about making yoga accessible to the wider community by ensuring clients feel welcome and comfortable and are not intimidated.
There are five different types of classes, both heated and non-heated. Beginners can start with Hot Yoga, Yoga Basics or Yin Yoga, each which offer a good base and beginner friendly instruction.
For Hot Yoga, the room is heated to a snug 34C, while Power Flow sees it set at 30C. These temperatures ensure the room is kept below body temperature and therefore doesn’t cause stress or fatigue. The classes are orientated towards building fitness, strength and balance while supporting stillness and mindfulness.
Targeted workshops are perfect for every level of experience, ranging from Yoga Essentials for beginners, which allows you to brush up on basic technique, to sessions for the more experienced. The team also runs retreats for those who wish to fully immerse themselves in the yoga lifestyle, returning to normal life refreshed and relaxed.
Don’t worry if you’re on the run – the studio offers shower facilities with organic body products and changing areas and hairdryers, allowing you to leap back into your day feeling calm, clean and refreshed. All you need to bring is a drink bottle and mat.
On top of classes, yoga teacher training is available – participants undertake a 200-hour professional development course for a deeper understanding of yoga and its benefits, as well as accreditation to spread their love of yoga elsewhere.
The studio also features a retail section where visitors can purchase mats and deck themselves out in yoga accessories, clothing, books and body products. Products are sourced from local businesses that operate ethically and sustainably.
Yoga has profound physical and mental benefits, creating a greater sense of awareness and mindfulness. At Yoga Flame, the team are leaders and innovators in the field, bringing an outstanding quality of care to each class.
