There’s a new kid on the Brighton Block – Mr and Mrs P has officially moved in. From courtyard cocktails to a refined upstairs dining area, this fresh beachside venue is making a splash as an up and coming foodie hotspot.
Greg and Georgia Poliwodzinski took their inspiration for Mr and Mrs P from a love story, hoping to capture the feeling of “the days that turned into nights, the meals you didn’t want to end, and the company you always want to keep”.
And they have done just that. Combining their copious hospitality experience – including owners of the popular Treehouse Lounge – Greg and Georgia have transformed their passion for good food, inventive drinks and lively atmosphere into Mr and Mrs P.
This Brighton venue is covering all bases, with each level giving off a different vibe. On entry, the downstairs bar is energetic and animated, conceptualised as the place to chill out with one (or two) of their boundary-pushing cocktails in the spacious courtyard.
The vanilla vodka, passionfruit and white chocolate martini, affectionately called the Mr and Mrs P is a crowd favourite. For something fiery, the Bay Street Tiki consisting of Bacardi Blanco, Bacardi fuego, blackberry, banana liqueurs, citrus, lime and bitters is sure to satisfy. The bold and playful menu also gives you the option to build your own Bloody Mary, with additions such as wasabi, basil, olives and coriander to tempt your tastebuds.
The second floor opens up to a trendy event space, perfect for private functions. Up the stairs again will reveal the sophisticated and somewhat romantic dining area. Up here is where you’ll enjoy the clever menu curated by the esteemed Head Chef, Matthew Butcher, who has trained under prestigious international chefs Gordon Ramsay and Shannon Bennett.
Here, you can expect flavoursome modern Australian dishes from kingfish with truffle soy, to Wagyu beef with buttered risoni and Potted Duck with baby onions and cherry jelly. The menu showcases the very best of local produce, providing colourful, flavoursome and playful meals to be enjoyed with an ice-cold tipple.
